This book is about a swan named Louis that has no voice of his own, so he learns to play the trumpet to impress the beautiful female swan Serena. White's classic story dealing with overcoming physical obstacles told through an engaging musical narrative by Tony-award winners Marsha Norman and Jason Robert Brown. I don't know about anyone else, but I started reading The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. I think because of the title I thought it was going to be some sentimental book about swans. The Trumpet of the Swan is about a swan who grows up within the story and a boy, whose name was Sam, was the first human to see the swan, whose name was Louis, at the beginning of his life. Morrow's room read the book The Trumpet of the Swan and completed a swan project (Louis). You might wonder why I'm reviewing a book that's forty years old. White this weekend and I could hardly put the book down. At the Blue Academy, 4th Grade students in Ms. Mostly it's because, (for some reason probably the rather ho hum cover,) the Trumpet of the Swan has never received the recognition it deserved.
